The application for Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China! has been launched since July.10, 2015.

About Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China!

Inspired by the programme of Pitch New Work Now, ISPA, Going to Mainland China! is a pitch session designed for new international projects heading for Chinese market. The international artists or agents whose programmes have been selected by the ChinaSPAF will have the opportunity to introduce their new work via video presentation to all the Chinese delegates of China SPAF2015, including major presenters from different parts of China.

Ten projects are to be selected to participate in the Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China!. Each applicant has altogether 10 minutes to introduce their work, including three minutes for displaying video on large projection screen and two minutes for a short presentation followed by a five-minute Q&A.

All candidate projects will be displayed on the official website of ChinaSPAF, with the final 10 selected projects to be highlighted in the section of Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China!.

●Time: 13:30pm-15:30pm, Oct. 15, 2015

●Place: Auditorium, B1, Hotel InterContinental Shanghai Puxi

Who can apply?

●All types of international performing arts projects will be considered, but prospective projects must beNew; AND

●Have NOT toured in mainland China more than once in the past three years;

●One applicant can ONLY apply for one project;

●Artists and/or agents have formally registered as the official delegate of ChinaSPAF 2015.

How to apply?

‍‍Candidates should submit all required material by Thursday 20 August, 2015. All material should be submitted in English and/or Chinese and the application should be submitted via the ChinaSPAF 2015 Official Website. After registration at the ChinaSPAF 2015, candidates will receive username and password, with which they shall be able to log in to the website and go to the section of Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China! to apply.‍‍

Selection Process

Step 1: First round selection by the Program Exchange Dept. of The Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF).

Step 2: Second round selection with consultation of the following 10 presenting professionals in China:

●Four major venue presenters in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou;

●Four major venue presenters in other cities, such as Tianjin, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Xi'an, etc.;

●One performing arts critic of a major media in Shanghai;

●One representative of a major on-line ticketing system.

Step 3: Final selection by CSIAF panel that consists of the President, Artistic Director, Performance & Exhibition Dept., Publicity & PR Dept. and Program Exchange Dept.

Candidates will be notified of their application status by Monday 21 September, 2015.

The key consultants of presenting professionals in China mentioned above will attend the final video presentation on Oct. 15.
